IN-HOUSE laboratory

At the Seyntex textile-testing laboratory we have the ideal facilities to conduct thorough research into high-tech textile applications. As a result, we are able to achieve the required quality in all stages of manufacture, in a sustainable way.

The compliance of our quality assurance systems with the requirements of ISO 9001: 2008 is the subject of regular audits by accredited organizations. At our textile laboratory we conduct tests to check compliance with the most representative standards (including ISO, EN and ASTM). To that end, our test facilities are equipped with a full complement of testers and tools.

Testers and tools

To guarantee the highest possible protective quality of our textiles, we have a full range of testers and tools at our disposal: weight measurement tools, tensile machines for testing tear resistance and tensile strength, dynamic tear resistance indicators (Elmendorf), digital bursting strength testers, Martindale abrasion and pilling testers, ICI pilling boxes, adhesion testers for coatings, tools to measure air and water vapour permeability, Datacolour colour measurement tools, testers to determine colourfastness, Wascator lab washers according to ISO 6330, fire testers, spray testers, tools to define oil repellency, resistance to water penetration and spin oils (to check whether the Kevlar has been washed out completely), HPLC equipment to determine the permethrin concentration (mosquito-repellent check), and Datacolour Infra-red measurement tools.

Ballistic shooting range

Protection is everything. All Seyntex ballistic protection for the military and police undergo ballistic testing according to international ballistic procedures and specifications set by the customer in internal and external accredited shooting ranges. We offer soft ballistic protection for bullet, knive, spike, fragment and needle attacks. Furthermore, we offer hard plates that protect against the most demanding specifications required by our customers and that comply with international standards.
