Procurement Manager (English version)
JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Procurement Manager within our company, you will not only be an essential link in our team but also take on an exciting and challenging role with significant responsibilities.
You will be part of an international environment where you will have the opportunity to contribute to strategic decision-making. For tender projects, you will provide valuable support by sourcing materials on time and under the best conditions, considering the “Total Cost of Ownership” (TCO). You will be actively involved in sourcing new high-tech materials worldwide. You will establish communication with various suppliers, gather all proposals, and map them out. Based on the “bill of materials,” you will calculate the cost of the items in the projects assigned to you. You will work closely with your colleagues at various international locations and ensure smooth communication within the team.
KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Negotiation skills: Capable of conducting effective and profitable negotiations with suppliers, securing favorable terms within the established guidelines and policies.
- Technical expertise in textile materials and applications: Advanced knowledge of textiles, fabrics, and accessories, as well as the ability to understand and assess material specifications.
- Project management skills: Ability to effectively manage and coordinate multiple projects, tasks, and responsibilities; meeting project objectives within deadlines and budgets.
- You are independent, assertive, and resilient under stress, handling strict deadlines or shifting priorities with confidence.
- Interest in sustainability and innovation is essential in various new projects.
- You have basic knowledge of import and export.
- Analytical skills: Strong analytical ability to interpret data and support decision-making. Able to recognize trends and patterns in market data and purchasing activities.
- Proficient in English, French, and German, both spoken and written. You are able to communicate effectively with international suppliers and team members.
PERSONAL COMPETENCIES
- Curious: Eager to acquire new knowledge and skills, applying them to new projects. Quick to familiarize yourself with new concepts and technologies in the textile industry.
- Flexible: Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities, collaborating with colleagues of different levels and expertise. Willing to take on various tasks and switch between projects.
- Not a “nine-to-five” mentality: Regular visits to suppliers and fairs are part of the job, at an international level. Regular travel abroad is expected.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree with experience in the sector, or a Master’s with initial relevant experience in procurement within an international environment.
- Strong MS Office skills, knowledge of SAP is an asset.
- Excellent knowledge of Dutch, good proficiency in English and French, and knowledge of German is a plus.
- A proactive attitude towards new technologies and methodologies.
- Ability to embrace and effectively apply innovative solutions in day-to-day tasks.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work accurately to maintain the highest quality standards.
